How this calculator works

Amount received = amount − fixed fee − (amount × % fee) − (amount × exchange markup %)

Effective fee % = total fees ÷ amount × 100. The comparison table runs the same amount through every provider in our fee table.

Worked example

A client pays you 1,000. Your provider charges a 0.30 fixed fee, 4.4% and no currency conversion.

  • Fees = 0.30 + (1,000 × 4.4%) = 44.30
  • You receive = 1,000 − 44.30 = 955.70
  • Effective fee = 4.43%

Frequently asked questions

Are these fees up to date?

Provider fees change often and depend on your country, currency and account type. The defaults are examples with a "last checked" date. Always confirm on the provider's own pricing page.

What is an exchange-rate markup?

When a provider converts currency it often uses a worse rate than the real mid-market rate. The difference is a hidden fee, usually 0.5% to 4%.

Who pays the fee, me or the client?

Usually the receiver. Some freelancers add a small payment fee to invoices or offer a cheaper method to clients.

Which provider is cheapest?

It depends on the amount, currencies and countries. For large invoices a low % fee matters most; for small ones a low fixed fee matters most. Use the comparison table.

Can I enter my own fees?

Yes. Choose "Custom" or just edit the fixed fee, % fee and markup fields.
